Prep the embroidery hoop loom
You will not use the outer hoop for this project. Using a measuring tape to mark out 1cm spots along the entire inside of the inner hoop. Drill small holes in the center of each marked out spot and sand down to prevent from splintering.
Create your loom
Thread a need to a piece of cotton string and tie a large knot at the end. Thread through and across each drilled hole creating vertical parallel lines keeping the string taught as possible and tie off at the end. Tip: Use super glue to fully secure ends of string to the embroidery hoop to ensure the knot doesn’t slip out.

Weave the beach scene
Starting from the bottom weave different colored yarn through the strings. Weave in loose ends and cut extra yarn tails on the back side of the hoop. Tip: Start with the large areas of same colored yarn first then add detail on top.
Add Embellishments
Use a glue gun to glue a thick piece of yarn that resembles rope around hoop and tie a sailors knot at the top. Tuck away the ends of the knot. Glue wooden seagulls to the cotton string with super glue.

Hang and relax!
if you listen closely you can hear the ocean and the seagulls!

This wreath is awesome! So many neat parts to this, and oohh the textures and colors! Makes me feel like I am really at the beach. I have chosen this as one of my featured projects for this week’s Snickerdoodle Create Bake Make Link Party, which goes live Saturday at 5pm EST.
