DIY Laundry Detergent

Grate and mix! That’s all there is to it!

What You’ll Need:

  • Airtight container

  • Cheese grater

  • 1 cup washing soda

  • 5 oz Castile bar soap with organic essential oils

  • ¼ cup Baking soda

Grate the bar of soap – Use a small cheese grater to grate the entire bar of soap into a large bowl or dish.

Mix all ingredients – Add all ingredients into an airtight container and shake well. Make as much or as little as you’d like; just adjust the proportions as needed. Allow the ingredients to settle before opening the container.

To use – Mix and scoop 2 tablespoons per load into the washing machine. For larger loads use 3 tablespoons.

DIY Reusable Dryer Sheets

Store bought dryer sheets are filled with chemicals and are only good for a onetime use. Our favorite hack are these reusable dryer sheets. They are incredibly easy, inexpensive and sustainable!

What You’ll Need:

  • Airtight container

  • Washcloths

  • ½ cup white vinegar

  • 8-12 drops of essential oils

Mix all ingredients – Add vinegar and essential oils in the airtight container and mix well.

Add washcloths – Fold and stack washcloths and place vertically into the jar. Close jar until ready to use.

To use – Ring out before throwing into the dryer. Use one cloth per dryer load.

* We were worried these would get moldy sitting there in the jar…they don’t!
