Sometimes we like to get crafty using materials we already have in our apartment. We’ve been anxiously waiting for spring to arrive and that’s how our astroturf pots bloomed!

We realize these aren’t for everyone but we wanted to keep it kitschy and give it a Stepford Wives vibe.

It’s really as simple as it looks!
-
Rinse out a tin can and cut a piece of astroturf to fit the size of the can.
-
Wrap and hot glue the astroturf around the can.
-
Embellish with faux flowers.
The flowers we had were a little big for our cans, so we removed the stems and pinched the petals and glued together using a dab of hot glue.

To make watering easy, keep plants in their plastic pots and take them out to water. Add drainage holes to the bottom of the tins with a hammer and nail if potting directly into the can.

So easy, Nicole Kidman could do it!

Such a fun spring idea.
I covered a much smaller old tin a few years ago with some fake grass to make a spring like pen pot, I like how you’ve made planters. I wonder if this would work for larger outdoor planters? Or maybe a window box? That could look amazing!
This is so cool! Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty link Party this week. Pinned!
