Paper Easter Bunny Box DIY – Using the Fiskars Paper Box Maker

by Crafty Lumberjacks

Hop into the Easter spirit by making a handmade paper bunny box using the Fiskars Box Maker. No Cricut or electric cutting machine needed to create handfuls of boxes in just minutes. These bunnies are an adorable replacement or addition to the classic Easter basket! They’re so cute they’re a perfect inexpensive addition to your spring decor.

Put your own spin on these little cuties by changing up the cardstock. Go classic spring with pastels or go loud and bold with some vibrant colors. They’ll be adorable however you embellish them!

Materials:

How to:

Trim Down Cardstock- Use the paper cutter to trim two pieces of 12×12 cardstock. First Piece 11 x 11 for body.  Second Piece 8.5 x 8.5 for the head.

Make Two Boxes- Adjust the Gifting Board to the correct size of the first sheet of paper. Place the the paper into the gifting board and punch and score as noted. The Gifting Board has all the easy to follow instructions right on the board. It seems a little confusing at first, but it’s a very repetitive process. You’ll get the hang of it very quickly!

Make a Cotton Tail- Cut out three strips of white cardstock using the Paper Edgers. It’s the small details like the edges that really take a craft over the top. Add a Glue Dot to the end of one of the strips and press the end of the strip on top…basically creating a bracelet. Attach the other two strips to the circle the same way to create a sphere.

Cut out the features- Use a pair of scissors and different colored cardstock to create all of the features of the rabbit. Eyes, ears nose…When creating these features try to incorporate different colors to really make it pop. Use a glue stick to glue the pieces together.

Cut the whiskers- Use the fringe scissors to cut out the whiskers. Cut into a piece of cardstock then trim the edges so all the thin strips are about the same size.

Glue all of the features to the boxes- You can use a glue stick or Glue Dots for this step. We used the Glue Dots for the larger pieces like the tail and the ears.

Make a carrot- Cut out a carrot and use the paper edgers to create a leafy green top!

Cut out grass- Fold the tissue paper about four times and cut directly into it with the fringe scissors to create grass to put inside the boxes. You can use cardstock or tissue paper for the step. We like the tissue paper, but it does get a little smooshed if you have heavier items inside.

Fill and Stack the Boxes- Fill the two boxes with candies, treats or our favorite…cash!! Stack the boxes. You can use a Glue Dot hold down the head, but we would recommend patting the Glue Dot with your fingers to make it a little less sticky. This way it wont rip when removing it.
