We always try to make handmade gifts for our Mom’s for Mother’s Day. This year we’re keeping it simple and fun with an easy dollar store updo!
Gardening tools from the dollar store…risky or genius? We aren’t sure yet, but they feel sturdy.

Both of our Mom’s have green thumbs but are very specific about the tools they like. We didn’t want to spend a lot money on something they wouldn’t use but wanted to feed their gardening addiction.

Our friends at Plaid sent us Folk Art Marbling Paint and we’re obsessed!

We slipped off the green cushion handles, poured our marbling paint colors into a cup and swirled them together. Then we poured the paint right onto the wood handles.
After drying over night, we sprayed them with a sealant and slipped back on the cushions.

They’re a total cute upgrade! Mom’s gonna love them!

These are SO sweet! We would love for you to consider joining us at our To Grandma’s House we go link party – it starts every week on Wednesday and every share gets pinned, thanks!
Speaking as a mum, I’d love to receive these! I’ve picked them to be one of the features at Handmade Monday later on today.
I’ve tried marbling with nail varnish but this proper medium stuff sounds like fun to play with!
These are beautiful! Way to transform something from the Dollar Store! ?
