We started making our own foaming hand soap and we are hooked!
It couldn’t be easier to make and it’s cheaper & better for the environment than buying bottles of soap repeatedly.
The first time we made foaming soap was a couple of months ago on HGTV Handmade where we made our own scent combinations using essential oils. Which was perfect, because really wanted fall/winter scents that we couldn’t find easily.
A viewer wrote to us and told us about an even easier way to make foaming soap and we had to try it out. Now we’re obsessed with this shortcut, it’s perfect for the busy holiday season and take’s less time to make than actually reading this post!

What you’ll need
-
Peppermint Castile Soap
-
Distilled or Filtered Water

How to:
This is so simple and fool proof to make, the most important part is using a foaming soap dispenser for it to actually foam. You can buy one online like we did or reuse a plastic one that came already filled.
-
Add H2O– Fill a foaming soap dispenser 2/3 of the way with distilled or filtered water.
-
Time for soap- Add about two tablespoons of peppermint castile soap.
-
Shake it up- Screw on the pump and give it a shake! Tip: If it’s not smelling as fragrant as you want – just add extra soap.
That’s it!! Pump it up and refill as it starts to get empty.
To finish it off we wanted to give our bottle a festive feel so we wrapped bakers twine around the neck of the bottle, added a wooden snowflake and tied it off in the back.
Simple and the perfect little touch we needed.

What we love about this
-
It’s sustainable.
-
It’s all natural.
-
It’s inexpensive.
-
It’s versatile and customizable.
-
It’s so easy to do even our cat could do it!
-
It’s foam…everything foams is fun! …wait except for rabid animals.
How to 2 Ingredient Peppermint Foaming Hand Soap by CraftyLumberjacks on Jumprope.
Not into peppermint? Or want to switch it out after the holiday season? We totally get that, we like to switch things up to keep it fresh. All you have to do is switch the pre-scented castile soap, they come in a handful of all natural scents that you can rotate all year long. We’re excited to try almond one next…it’s the little things in life.
