DIY Pineapple Ball® Jar String Lights

Summer is finally here! We are paying homage to our favorite summertime snack with a strand of miniature light up pineapples! Who could resist these cuties? We might live in NYC, but during the summer we really want to live inside a tiki bar and now we’re one step closer!

How To

  • Squeeze a generous amount of acrylic paint inside a jar and swirl around until the entire jar is coated and let dry on a drying rack or a piece of parchment paper. TIP: Don’t let any paint go to waste, pour any extra paint into another jar!

  • Cut triangle arrow shapes out of the adhesive black vinyl for pineapple details. Using the back blank side of the jar as the front of the pineapple, sporadically stick shapes around the outside of the jar.

  • Use a step drill bit to drill a hole in the top of the lid large enough to fit a socket of the string light and spray paint yellow.

  • Cut 3 pineapple leaves out of the pool noodle for each jar.

  • Assemble each pineapple by unscrewing the light bulb and placing the socket through the top of the lid. Screw on bulb and screw the lid to the jar.

  • Use a low temp glue gun to glue on the leaves to the top of the lid.

The pineapple process is simple but pretty repetitive depending on the string of lights! It’s the perfect project to do while watching your favorite summer movie! Grease anyone?

“Oh those summer nights!”

Another fabulous summery project. Perfect for summer parties and social gatherings!
I’m trying to think of my favourite summer film now, I’m thinking maybe Stand by Me or perhaps a classic like Dirty Dancing?
