Who doesn’t love a dollar store DIY?!

We were inspired by an Instagram friend’s retro sun catcher but had no luck finding one. So, we went to the dollar store and made one ourselves!

Mod Podge, tissue paper, frames and a lot of glue!

We’re a little unsure of how it will hold up over time but so far so good!
We repeat use A LOT of glue!
You can see how the whole thing came together in a video on our Youtube channel!

This is the coolest thing I have ever seen.
Wow! Thank you Kari!! 🙂
Who would have ever thought ! ? Other than you guys!! THIS is amazing, simple & well.. cheap! Just my style! With Spring comes sales..I can’t wait! I want to try a vintage look of sorts with frames collected from garage/yard/ flea markets.. free boxes( curb alerts!! ) Thank You for such an awesome project !! Yes..I hear you loud & clear on NY weather..it’s MArch 10.. WAS 44 now under winter weather warning.. for ice then snow.. !! Oh well more time inside to craft away!! 🙂 <3
The weather has got to change sooooon! We’re actually kinda sad NYC didn’t get too much snow this year…but we will take warm weather now!! We miss garage/yard/flea markets! Curb alerts can be sketchy in the city and flea markets are way over priced here. Hope you’re staying warm!
This is very clever, very Mondrian-esk!
What a great idea! We have used Dollar Store frames for quite a few of our suncatcher crafts; you just can’t beat the price. I love that you can completely customize the colors too using whatever color tissue paper. Pinned.
Okay, so I am planning to make one! I have all the supplies right now, the life of a blogger, right! Pinned and Featuring. I sent you guys an invitation to join my Dollar Store Decor Pinterest Board.
