We finally tried to tackle our extensive collection of empty jars by turning them into retro planters.

We wrapped glass vessels with rolled out air dry clay and trimmed off the excess clay with a large kitchen knife. Then added some design elements with a fork and let our planter dry over night.

We added a sloppy coat of acrylic paint and added a thick coat of glossy clay sealant for protection and shine. To finish it up we hot glued craft blocks on the bottom to mimic a wooden stand.

That’s brilliant, by leaving the glass in the air dry clay won’t get wet again! Now why didn’t I think of that?
