We have found a way to overcome the bitter cold days of winter! By wearing super cozy robes and drinking spicy hot toddies!
This simple recipe is gingery, lemony and of course boozy!!

First start off by steeping a quick “tea”.
- 3 cups of water
- 2-3 lemons
- A big chunk of ginger
- Dash of chili flakes
- Cinnamon stick
Add these ingredients to a covered sauce pan and simmer 10-20 min. The longer you simmer the spicier it will be. We like it spicy!

Strain, add to mugs and sweeten with maple syrup.
Add a dash of chili flakes if you like to live dangerously!
This tea is great as is, but now it’s time for the booze! We’re bourbon boys so we are adding a shot…or two! Not into whiskey? Dark rum works just as well.

Will this cure your cold? Kick out your flu? Who really knows…but it tastes delicious will warm you up for sure!

mmmmmmmmmmmmm I needed this recipe back when it snowed! We don’t get much here in AL and this would have done the trick I am sure!

You’ll have to save it for your next snow storm!
Oh yum! Hot toddy’s are my absolute favorite! Never thought of making one spicy! I am so intrigued and can’t wait to try it. Thanks for the recipe. Pinned this and saw your post at the over the moon party:)
Yay! Thank you! So yummy!
Yum! As i was reading the steeping in spices bit I was thinking i hope a glug of rum or brandy goes in this! This is sure to chase away the worst cold or flu and if not, at least make you feel a little bit better.
It’s so good! Knocks out any cold!
MMM this sounds wonderful!
