Decorating for Christmas is a slow and messy process for us! We like to take our time!
Our apartment is full of bins overflowing with unplaced decorations for a few weeks. So when we decorate we like to immures ourselves in Christmas- we blast Christmas music and throw on a stovetop potpourri to get the full apartment smelling like the holidays!
Stovetop potpourri’s are so easy to throw together!
If you don’t know what a stovetop potpourri is, here’s the gist- raid your kitchen, throw fruits and spices in a pot with water and let it simmer! In minutes your place will be full of smells of the season. If you’re a candle collector like we are, this is a great alternative or add on! (Yes, we’ve been known to light a few candles and double fist with a stove top potpourri.)
Handful of fresh cranberries
Add ingredients in a pot and fill about half way with with water.
Place the pot on a low setting burner and enjoy! Soon your place will start smelling like Christmas!
Simmer over low heat for as long as you’d like!
Add water as needed. Be sure not to let the water completely evaporate.
One batch can last up to a week!
Smells so GOOD!
Throw the ingredients into a jar or bag for the perfect host gift! Have fun with the packaging and don’t forget to include the instructions!
