We’re so excited to be a part of Treetopia’s grandest Halloween Celebration sharing our Haunted Movie Theatre Tree along with some of our other favorite spooktastic crafty friends! Last year we had a blast creating our Weird Science Tree this year was even more of a scream!

What better way to pay tribute to horror film season than putting it on a tree and dead-icating it to those weird and wonderful films!

Theatre’s are some of the most haunted places and our black ombre tree is no exception!

We really tried to capture the essence of an old creepy movie theatre with sticky floors filled with overpriced stale popcorn.

For a closer look, watch our Youtube video with some ornament tutorials! Classic movie posters, ushers and rats- oh my!

Because of our creative process, we weren’t able to document the making of our film projector, film reel tins and stanchions. These projects ended up being organically trial and error, but really help set the creepy scene.

The film projector were made out of foam board, washers, CD’s and dowels. Oh and hot glue, lots of hot glue.

The stanchion poles were made from PVC pipes spray painted gold. The bases were pieces of insulation foam, layered on top of each other and painted black. We found metal clips from the hardware store and painted a piece of rope. Oh and lots of hot glue again.

The film reel tins were painted dollar store stove top covers, embellished with paper labels and rubber bands.

No ticket, no movie!

I love it SO much! The detail you guys put into it is absolutely stunning! I love the "admit one" tickets as a garland and the skull with the old school cap and 3D glasses. I die.

We have about 900000 left in a roll, we just can’t seem to let them go!

I absolutely love this tree! Are there written directions with measurements for the projector?
