It’s that time of year where we believe every room should be spooky! Even the bedroom. Why not? You spend a good amount of time in there, yes mostly asleep, but it’s the last thing you see at night and the first thing you wake up to!

We got Cricut crafty and made some whimsical Halloween touches for our bedroom! We made a set of punny personalized pillows for our bed and gave our windows a batty new look! These little touches transformed our bedroom from plain to just plain spooky!
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.

If you’re going to decorate a bedroom, why not start with the bed!? We thought it would be funny to create a set of pillows with a play on tombstones and our sleeping arrangements. Pillow covers are an inexpensive way to change up your space and they take up little room when storing them after the season, which is a big plus for apartment living!
We had yet to use the Cricut EasyPress and Iron-On’s. We were a little worried, but just like our Cricut Maker – the EasyPress is extremely easy to use and guides you through everything. You can use an iron for this project, but the great thing about using a Cricut EasyPress is you can set the exact temperature for the materials you’re using and it let’s you know exactly how long to press. (Different types of Iron-On have different care instructions, make sure to use the recommended settings chart to make every project perfect.) Also, there’s no hot spot – which means even heat throughout that will allow for a durable long lasting finish to your project. Cricut even offers a StrongBond Guarantee!

How to:
-
Edit pre-made project in Cricut Design Space by adding a name and size to your liking.
-
Select the “cut” option from the Linetype dropdown menu.
-
Cut a piece of Iron-On to size.
-
Lay the Iron-On facing down on a standard grip mat. (The machine will check if you’ve to done this.)
-
Click the mirroring button before loading. (The machine will also check if you’ve done this!)
-
Load the machine and watch the Cricut do it’s magic. (The machine will guide you through the process – even making sure the right tool is loaded.)
-
Unload, peel and weed away any extra Iron-On.
-
Use Cricut’s recommended settings chart and set time and temperature on EasyPress according to the fabric/Iron-On you’re using.
-
Place the pillow cover on top of a Cricut EasyPress Mat or folded bath towel to protect your surface.
-
Preheat your pillow cover by pressing the EasyPress for a few seconds to remove wrinkles and moisture. Never skip this step, it’s extremely important for the success of the end result and will help to maximize the life of the Iron-On.
-
Position the Iron-On in the center of the pillow case – shiny side clear liner facing up. (Optional – Place a piece of parchment paper between the EasyPress and the vinyl.)
-
Place the EasyPress on top, start the timer and apply gentle pressure until it beeps.
-
Flip the pillowcase over and press the backside of the pillow for 15 seconds. Pressing both sides really reinforces the heat transfer.
-
While the Iron-On film still feels warm to the touch, test a corner. If the liner does not lift easily, reapply and reheat for a few more seconds.
-
Remove liner.
-
Stuff your pillowcase and get cozy in your eternal resting place.

Since moving into our apartment, we’ve always wanted to decorate our windows for the holidays. We both have memories putting up halloween window clings (Andrew still has some from the 80’s that we now put on a mirror in the bathroom ((yup, we decorate every room))).
We live on the first floor of a semi busy NY street and like to attract the least amount of attention to our place as possible. Hey, you can’t be too safe! So, we decided to decorate some blackout shades instead of our actual windows and we LOVE it!!! It’s a simple project that’s quick and has a huge impact!

We’re in love with how easy it was to transform our bedroom into a spooky sanctuary!

Sweet nightmares everyone! Don’t let the bedbugs bite! Really don’t – this is New York, we have to worry about those things!

Hi Angelica! The font is called Alleycat Bop ICG. We have the project on Cricut Design Space- where you can add your name and edit it however you want! Hope this helps! Let us know, if you make one-we’d love to see!
Is the pillow a imagine or a project?? Currently obsessed with the pillows and need to make them!!
Hiii! We make the project live on Design Space. We took out our names so you should be able to customize them! IF you do make them, let us know! We’d love to share it!
Hiya,
I am an Aussie and have just received my first cricut. I am a huge fan of halloween and would absolutely love to make the rest in peace pillows, however I have no idea where or how to get these tombstones. They down turn up when I look for them on the design space? Is this another situation where I get Jibbed? 😛
I found it. Go to cricut community and it’s under their name. Or just search tombstone.
Hi Liz!! Sorry you had trouble finding it, but glad you did!! We’d love to see it!
Hi Monica! So sorry for the late response! Here is the link to the tombstone! Hope we’re not too late!

Hi I am unable to find the Tombstone Pillowcases on Design Space? Is it still available and is there an easy way to find your work?
Thanks,

Love this- somehow I missed this project of yours last year. Maybe once life is settled I can get a Cricut Easy Press for the new craft room/guest room!
I will be making these as soon as my pillow cases arrive! My husband and I love this project! I cannot wait! Thank you!
