We never considered ourselves cat people until Teddy came into our lives!
We adopted Teddy (Krueger) in October and he’s brought many meow’s, cuddles, laughter and cuteness into our daily routine.
We were so excited to learn of his 1st birthday that we had to celebrate! We weren’t going to go all out (this year), but we at least wanted to do a festive photoshoot!

We wanted to dress our Teddy up, but knowing him, we knew we wanted to keep it minimal.
After no luck finding cute mini birthday hats online, we figured we would make our own!
Materials-
-
Felt
-
Pom pom
-
Paper cone template (optional)
-
Elastic
-
Fabric glue
-
Glue gun

-
Cut out a small cone shape on three different colored pieces of felt. We printed out a paper cone template we found online to use as a guide.
-
Cut fringe about a quarter inch long on the bottom edge of one piece of felt. Cut off excess bulk.
-
Layer the felt pieces leaving about a quarter inch between each piece and glue together with fabric glue.
-
Use a glue gun to add a chin strap with a piece of elastic (fit to size…good luck trying to figure that out with a cat). While the glue is still hot cover with small patches of felt to hold it down and also to help keep things comfortable inside.
And vualá!
A homemade party hat…that your cat most likely wont want to wear!
Happy Birthday, Teddy!

That’s really cute, and the fact Teddy is not wearing it speaks volumes! We had a cat as I was growing up and I can’t imagine she would EVER have let us put a hat on her. You need a dog if you want a pet that will let you dress them up. Dog will let you put party hats and bonnets on them and everything 😀
Hahaha! So true! We haven’t given up on trying to dress him up, but it might be a hopeless cause! One day we’d love to get a dog! Not sure if Teddy would love not getting all the attention, but we think he’d do well with the right pooch!
